Sukoon Works is built on nearly a decade of studying Arabic calligraphy, returning to it again and again, letter by letter, until the practice became something closer to a second language than a skill. Alongside it, we draw inspiration from Turkish illumination and the discipline of ornament: how color, gold, and pattern are used not to decorate a page, but to honor what’s written on it. Both traditions teach the same lesson in different ways, that beauty, done properly, takes time, and that time is exactly what makes it last.

That’s where those traditions meet something newer, taking principles that are centuries old and applying them to modern day art.
